Misfortune strikes the construction of the Viceroy's Highway once more as saboteurs from the Arcana Mystica send a cart of new workers off the highway and into the treacherous Midnight Weald.
Clearing the Midnight Weald is the first module of a larger three-part adventure for Fifth Edition gaming that advances characters from 2nd to 5th level. This module sets up the central social conflict on the continent of Laragoth: the rivalry between the Zephyr Consortium and the Arcana Mystica. Each faction vies not only for control of magical transportation and intracontinental commerce¸ but also control of popular opinion on how magic can and should be used. Here¸ characters discover the factions firsthand and will be faced with a choice between the two that will determine their paths in future modules in this adventure.
