Domains of Dread: Dawnsveil (5e)
Dawnsveil Once¸ it was dreamed to be a glorious trade colony that would expand into so much more. However¸ the hero of the colony also became its demise. Governor Aaron Orvird helped the early years through much strife¸ while only helping to create more. Conflicts with native residents and slavery started the pain and witch hunts only furthered it. A group of eccentrics were astrocized to the point of fighting back and playing into Orvird's fearful hands. Upon the execution of the last witch¸ a curse was placed on the town. Said curse would continue to doom the lands for as long as The Mists will hold onto them. The witch herself was cursed¸ much like the domain's Darklord. She was linked to her eternal adversary¸ Orvird¸ who lives as long as the other does. And worse¸ the Mists twisted her into the epitome of the Governor's worst fears come true. Enter a dreary domain where the trade in trade colony has been all but ruined¸ where the residents fear traveling far off the path¸ where many of the denizens have little to no rights¸ where nightmares of a Dark Witch continue to haunt the minds of many¸ where warrior shades avenge their tribe¸ where fears of witchcraft result in their own dark magics. While this land looks like a prosperous and flourishing colony from afar¸ a deeper look will reveal the day-to-day horror faced by the public. Domains of Dread: Dawnsveil is a D&D 5th Edition campaign expansion. Based on ideas dating back to 2011¸ it is its own independent Island of Terror¸ with minor links to other domains as well. While originally meant for the classic Ravenloft Campaign Setting¸ it can be adapted to other campaigns without much issue. This 5th Edition product can also be made compatible with the Curse of Strahd adventure book with minimum difficulty.
