Host - Class (5e)
The Host class is for players who want a unique D&D experience every time they pick up their character sheet. Constantly evolving and with three individualized Mutation Archetypes to choose from¸ the Host class gives players an opportunity to both engage in new and exciting roleplay scenarios as well as play in a way far different than other typical classes. Here is a brief excerpt to describe the flavor of the Host class: Entomologists tell of an extremely rare species of intelligent parasites that can burrow into and infest humanoids. Once attached the parasite wraps itself around the Host's most vital organs and melds with them¸ making the parasite impossible to remove without also killing the creature it is attached to. It is said that while the parasite does transform the Host's body into an increasingly horrifying facsimile of a humanoid¸ one does gain amazing powers unlike any other. The most confusing and disconcerting piece of information however¸ is that no one truly knows what the parasites' plans are or whether they have any at all. Do they interact with each other or are they solitary creatures? How do they breed? Are they even real? There are many unanswered questions¸ but one thing is certain though: anyone infected by these parasites will have their lives changed dramatically. You are one such ‘Host'¸ chosen by an intelligent parasite to be the vehicle with which it will birth its children and perhaps even evolve to a new form entirely. Your body has become a hideous and grotesque network of honey-comb shaped spawning vats for its children¸ but you have discovered some modicum of control over their usage; as if the parasite is allowing you to use its children to achieve your goals…and most certainly its own.
