Prestige Path Primer (5e)
Prestige Paths are a way to add another layer of flavor onto a character without using class levels. They are somewhere between a class and a background. Class levels are finite in 5e¸ so this allows for a light version of a class without breaking normal progression. This is a primer containing some rule clarifications for using Prestige Paths. It also contains a sample Prestige Path¸ the Knight of the Chalice. Feel free to leave any questions you have in the comments section. This is Version 2.2 of the Primer. The Knight of the Chalice has been updated to the v2 Prestige Path format. It reduces the ranks to 4¸ adds a new way to earn them¸ more frontloads the path¸ and scales the damage of the abilities to character level. v2.2: Removed "Buying Ranks with XP" and added "Buying Features with Downtime & Gold". Replaced references of "Rank" with "Tier". Follow Me on Ko-fi for Updates: https://ko-fi.com/dm_steel
