The Order of the Broadsword -Solo Adventure (5e)
b>The Order of the Broadsword
A 5e Solo Adventure Module
King Bleymore's Kingdom has come under attack from the dark wizard Zurthrall and his two wizard lieutenants. Can you destory Zurthrall's sources of power and restore peace to the kingdom?
The Order of the Broadsword is a choose-your-adventure style narrative adventure for character levels 3-5 designed to be played Solo - no need for a game master! This campy sword and sorcery throwback is meant to pay homage to the early solo adventures of the 1980's. There are 3 main paths in the adventure that will all circle to the final encounter. The decisions you make during the adventure will determine what types of monsters you encounter¸ the order in the which the story progresses¸ and any combat allies you may gain! The story itself is rather linear¸ but the order in which the events unfold are completely up to the in-game decisions made by the player. (and a few dice rolls!)
The adventure includes several allies for the player to meet during the course of the story. These allies will assist in combat and help to level the playing field. Of course¸ this gives an optional difficulty setting to the entire adventure - if you feel it is not challenging enough¸ don't use the helpful allies! This idea lets the player set their own difficulty level throughout the adventure.
The adventure system contains a very simplistic 'AI' for controlling enemies (and allies) in combat. A simple dice roll determines how the AI controlled monster/ally will behave during a combat turn. Alternatively¸ standard stats are included in each stat block so that a player may fully run combat as they see fit.
An additional 14 page compendium is included containing item descriptions¸ stat blocks¸ and shop keeper information for easy reference during the adventure. As of this release¸ there are no maps included. This adventure was designed for the 'theatre of the mind' playstyle.
